  5. Technical Drop-In 7th April 2026

Modified on Tue, 14 Apr at 9:39 AM

    • These are the issues that were covered during the drop in session.

The session was recorded, the video will be added in due course.

      1. Learner is unable to submit a competency for sign off in the self assessment 'National Paediatric Critical Care Competencies - Level 3 Qualification in specialty'. 2:53

This is normally due to the process not being followed correctly. Learners should be asked to provide screenshots and details of the steps they are taking and this can then be sent to DLS Support (support@dls.nhs.uk) for further investigation. UPDATE - this was a configuration issue with specific questions and has now been rectified.

      2. Can the ACCEND framework still be used now that the pilot has finished? 6:20

The framework remains live on the platform and can continue to be used. Centres are advised to confirm next steps directly with the ACCEND pilot team.

      3. Will learner progress transfer if the ACCEND framework is updated? 7:50

If only minor changes are made, progress should carry over. Significant changes or a new framework version would require learners to start again, although centres may apply local discretion when signing off equivalent evidence.

      4. Why can’t centre managers assign a nominated supervisor during enrolment? 11:29

The nominated supervisor role is added by the learner when submitting competencies for sign‑off. Centre managers assign the supervisor role at enrolment.

      5. Do supervisors need to complete the IV Therapy Passport themselves (before being able to sign off competencies for others)? 13:02

No. Supervisors can be assigned responsibility if the organisation is confident they have the appropriate skills, even if they have not completed the passport.

      6. Where should a new centre start with competency frameworks? 19:07

The DLS support site is the recommended starting point, alongside recorded training sessions and relevant Community of Practice meetings.

      7. How do users access DLS if they are unsure of their permissions? 24:15

DLS Support can confirm account status if this is not known. In this case, the user was confirmed as a learner and promoted to Centre Manager after the session to enable onboarding.

      8. Is IV Therapy version 2 still in pilot? 28:43

IV Therapy version 2 remains in pilot while final amendments are being completed.

      9. Can DLS content be downloaded or shared as SCORM files? 33:35

DLS content cannot be exported or shared as SCORM files due to legacy authoring tools and licensing constraints.
